Is Baseball Really a Sport?
Forums › General Discussion › Is Baseball Really a Sport?-
Besides mr. Anon, why are the midget mobs comming on here saying how lame this post is. Have u put in enough time to be so judgmental? My mob is small, I have no right to be judgmental, yet it is still larger than urs. Basically if have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all. Quit trolling other people's threads.
Sorry about the high jack, now back to the topic at hand.
I don't like baseball, it is slow and boring but, I can't say it isn't a sport. They call cricket a sport and it is much slower than baseball. -

Thats what I was trying to say. Well said! 👏People that say 'Baseball isn't a sport, it's too easy, I could go play in the MLB right now' are full of it. Go out and play any position, and see how easy it is. Go try to hit a 90+ mph fastball, and I'll laugh when you miss.
Don't try to compare football and baseball, they are totally different sports. A football player, unless overall athletically talented, couldn't just go play baseball any day. Same for a baseball player. Football used less of your mind, more of your mass/strength. Baseball is a thinking game.
But oh well...
Footballs a thinking game to though, working out the plays Qb has to make a lot of decisions on the fly so all in all there is just as much thinking in football to, baseball is most definitely a sport though, you sweat your bag off when ya play that shizz( if you actually try that is) -
That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. Obviously you have never watch baseball because you don't know anything about it. "a nice game of catch" is an understatement. On average, pitchers are throwing the ball atleast 90 miles an hour. Let's see you do that. I don't think it's a nice game of catch when youre the catcher having 90 mile an hour pitches coming to you. "If someone actually hits the ball". If you can't hit the ball, then you're in the minors, if that. If batting averages are .300, then that means on average they hit the ball 1 out of 3 times at bat. The ball is hit out of bounds about as much as you watch baseball. Playing in the field is like playing "zone defense" in basketball. Wherever the ball is hit, all the players in that area move to the ball strategically. If the baseball gets behind a player, a run is probably going to be scored.(a run is not good if you're playing defense, I had to explain that for stupid people like you)

The reason why there aren't many sub is beacasue there are 162 games to be played throughout the year. Subs will usually play a game or so. Maybe is you werent so ignorant, maybe you would enjoy baseball more. Stupid Stupid Stupid.

@GTR36
Everyone should have their say. And some People are shocked at the ignorance and low intelligence of the poster. Mob size should matter when posting in the forum. There are many great people out there with low mobs. No one is policing here do what is the problem with it?

Wtf!! Do u even kno how hard it is to throw a ball that fast! And WHEN the ball gets hit(professional career) it's like the game u used to play when u were little u better not let that balloon drop (aka ball)

💩 they could put me at CF and have someone pinch hit for me or SS for that matter! One of the only sports where you can be fat AND slow👈Add that to the list of reasons. I wish they didn't call it a sport because the 1st post says enough. I played football, basketball, and baseball. I hated baseball, it was so boring. Even when I played catcher I was bored(kind of). Baseball sucks!People that say 'Baseball isn't a sport, it's too easy, I could go play in the MLB right now' are full of it. Go out and play any position, and see how easy it is. I played catcher for 10 years and was gettin scouted outta high school when I blew out my knee( oh well) but its Definately a sport! It's a very team oriented sport. you can be the greatest player but if you don't have a decent team backing you up you'll go nowhere. Just like a qb who has no receivers or rush game.

Kind of like NASCAR...It seems pointless...100 cars all going in a circle traveling at MAYBE 70MPH...NASCAR isn't racing..It's just a good game of car-positioning...And yes, I'm from the deep-South, so I know what I'm talking about. 😒

Baseball- however boring and not very fun- is a sport

That would also let you practice your counting, you could count the number of seams visible on the bruise.

I think it's as simple as: can you do what the professionals can? No, you can't. So you should respect them for the years of effort and training they've put in, and respect the sport.

Baseball is too a sport. It takes skill and it is competitive. When you are up to bat, you need coordination to know when to swing the bat to get the ball to go as far as it can. In the field you need timing and catching skills to know when to close the glove. You need to be able run to get to the ball and the bases. Pitching requires skill too because you need arm strength to throw the ball 100 mph and to create an illusion so the batter swings and misses. So is baseball a sport? Yes it is.

If darts and snooker are sports then so is baseball.

Baseball is a very high skill requiring sport. It is the only sport with an extensive minor league system. The reason for that is because there are so many aspects of the game that a player needs to hone his skills to be able to compete in such a comPetitive sport.
Also it is very physically demanding as players need to have speed and quickness and reflexes when playing the field. Just watch an outfielder chase down a fly ball 50 feet+ and dive to catch a ball traveling at fast speed.
Baseball is definitely a sport!!
