Apparently just like every other damn drink we import, it's been dolled up and has less of the ingredients that make it, well, absinthe.
-

I haven't seen it in North America, but I think it'll be really poor quality.
-

Absinthe is also made in the states

Amish Hitman wrote: Yeah that's all the ones I saw very poor reviews on. Like I said about to try some state made. $11.39 for 100ml. 😖Absinthe is also made in the states

Damn that tasted horrid! So straight wasn't the best choice for the drink.

My favorite is rodnik's ..I think it's with a K. It will def. mess you up.

Absinthe taste horrible straight up. Such high proof. Need something to cut the bitterness. That's why sugar is used with it.

If you ever go to Japan try Habu Saki it tastes and smells like death but woah that stuff...is horridly crazy. I did crazy stupid things then I don't think I'd ever drink it again but wow. Nasty stuff.

Yea sugar is a must have..the best way to have it is..you take a scotch glass place a small strainer ( I think they make then for absinthe) Place a sugar cube on the strainer pour desired amount over the sugar cube and light on fire...sugar melts into glass. Allow surface to cool and drink.

You won't find Habu Saki in the states.

I agree Sammy habu saki is some crazy stuff...

Tastes similiar to dung smells. Tried it when I was in Germany. Wouldn't recommend it to anybody even When poured over sugar. Also experienced none if the proported side affects.

Or just do 2 oz absinthe shot the rest water in an 8oz glass and add a tablespoon of sugar or to taste.

A friend and I put away a bottle that her mom had in the cabinet from England (or somewhere like that I don't remember, theyre British). Point is, I couldn't give you feedback if I tried. The empty bottle was the only proof we had the next day.

Not sure why no europeans haven't explained the key ingredient not found in american absinthe yet, so I will. The reason nearly no absinthe in the states causes the hallucinogenic effects so commonly heard of, is because ours doesn't contain wormwood. To add wormwood and start the trippin...
 -get some wormwood.
-get some absinthe (I suggest "Lucid". It's the one with the cat eyes on it.)
-get an absinthe spoon. (I got mine at an antique store. They aren't common in america so buy online, or try my way)
 -get some sugar cubes
-

It has wormwood, just 10mg of thujone for the states, imported, you can get the REAL absinthe with up to 11mg of thujone.
-

-Now put a sugar cube on the absinthe spoon, and put some wormwood on top. Wormwood comes in different forms but it usually works when right on top of the sugar. -now hold the spoon over a low ball glass and slowly pour the absinthe through the spoon(absinthe spoons are like mini strainers, so the liquid flows through the sugar, wormwood and into the glass.).
