Laptop upgrade advice?
Forums › General Discussion › Laptop upgrade advice?-
So I have a dell inspiron m5030. It came with a crappy single core AMD V160 single core CPU @ 2.4 GHz, I upgraded it to an AMD Athlon 2 p320 dual core CPU @ 2.1GHz. I would like to be able to run FSX and Fraps at the same time without getting 6fps...
My thermal heat thingy is 25W. If I put a 35W AMD Phenom 2 N660 dual core @ 3.0 GHz obviously it'll reduce battery life and become hotter. Does this sound alright? Any suggestions?

1.the first thing is that the first "upgrade" was a down grade because it slowed your cpu.
2. You shoukd have gone with intel.
3. Dont let your computer get too hot ,my dad left his computer to run one night and came back to find its hard drive fried and a big useless piece of plastic.
I hope that helps -

If you read, the upgraded one was dual core as compared to the original single core, so yes it was an upgrade. I can't switch to intel because it means buying a whole new motherboard and processor.
If I had £250-£300 to spend on all this then I'd consider buying a new one.
