There's a fungus that infects ants, and forces them to go to a convenient spot for the fungus to grow and spread. It can spread from one ant to the other and the other ants can tell when one is infected. But it doesn't turn them violent and canabalistic. You can google it for more details. It's been a while since I read about it.

The zombie survival guide is a fictional book. Solanum isn't an actual disease.🎸₩℣ӈɪƖƖßıƖƖγ🎸 wrote:
I read the zombie survival guide and it proposed that the virus "Solanum" alters the brain, creating a new species, but they're not actually "dead".I'm pretty sure that it's impossible to reanimate the dead but the CDC has a post on its website informing you what to do if it happens.

It will, because (and I'm not kidding), someone already invented a virus that would shut down certain parts of the brain, making you not think, only survive at all costs, make you lurch around because of a slowed nerve travel, and that spreads quickly and through bites and scratches as it would be attached to another such virus. And he's completely evil (just kidding)!!!!!!!!!

There is a cat parasite (toxoplasma gondii) which modifies brain behaviour which makes cats take more risks and more promiscuous. To help spread the parasite.
Interestingly the same cat parasite can infect humans. It may well have a similar effect on human behaviour. -
