So I've been doing a lot of experiments with vendettas.
Attacking players offense will be on the left, defending players defense in the middle, wins-losses of attacking player on the right.
1) 103,870 / 128,636 / 5-15
2) 128,756 / 163,648v / 15-6
3) 150,410 / 165,376 / 10-23
4) 85,052 / 133,026v / 6/18.The v after the defending player's name indicates that defending player was in a vendetta.

5) 149,214 / 128,636 / 13-3.So the point is that in case 1) the def to attack ratio is slightly above 1.104. In case 3) it's 1.0995 and if we say the defending player is 30% weaker in case 4) it's 1.0948. Note how this fits together nicely. However if defending player really were 40% weaker than it'd be .9384. This would surely mean that the attacking player would win more than he lost. A similar pattern can be found where the defense is greater than the offense.

Another serious problem with the vendetta help form is that players with turf within a 1000 miles of the target or his turf aren't being used if they r physically more than 1000 miles away (see Missy jane's forum post) unless that player is the one attacking or being attacked. I have no problem with this, but the help section clearly states the opposite is true, so one of the two needs to be corrected.

I don't think this an accurate indication of a percentage mess up p s i. The random factor seems so much more active these days than it used to be and I think even with even numbers on boht sides that the random factor itself is slanted on defense. It's obvious that the percentage has changed because I find it quite a bit easier to vs someone in a vendetta now than before.

Great info Psi! I also think the random factor seems to increase the more you beat on someone. Anyone else notice this?

Not sure what the math proves that we didn't already know.
Also, the way vendettas work over distance is that players with local turf but physically out of range (999 miles) will defend and attack with local mobsters BUT the local mobsters won't be assisted by out of range mobsters if they don't have turfs near their location.
The best way to check if someone will be useful to you in a vendetta is to go to their profile page and make sure the player isn't "greyed" out on the attack bar with me message that the player is not within range. If you get that message - that mob will not assist you in a vendetta. -

Everybody doubts the mathematician? LoL. It's not about the initial factor either. Find somebody whose defense is 30% better than u'r attack and who is in a vendetta. Hit that player 1000 times. I just about guarantee u that u'll win about 500. I've done a lot more experiments than those I listed.

At the same time find somebody whose defense is equal to umr attack and hit them 1000 times. U'll win that also about 500 times.

I've got a stupid question...when was the defense reduction changed to 40%?...it used to be 30% Was this whenever V's were changed to add 4 players instead of 3? Perhaps Nick changed the text but forgot to change something in the programming?

There is definately a difference between what actually happens in a V versus what is stated in the help section. Having turfs in an area does not mean you can contribute health or mob to a vendetta- it seems to be purely based on physical location- this sucks as you can't help fellow mobs in the area and outcasts you from the community.... I hope it's a bug rather than working as designed.... Hopefully Nick will address this subject soon. Missy💔
