Any artists out there

Any artists out there who have had to deal with carpal tunnel or tendinitis? I've got a doctors appointment tomorrow morning and was wondering what you all recommend to lessen the pain. I've been wearing a brace and using heat/ice packs but any other recommendations? Currently I'm an art student, during finals. Any advice

Not sure if it would be the same but for my patellar tendinitis I was told to stretch. So far it has helped.
-
I've been stretching but it's only gotten worse. We'll see what the doc says tomorrow. Thanks anyways!

Excuse my ignorance but why would artists be more likely to suffer carpal tunnel and tendinitis?

Lol for the same reason as a mechanic, an office clerk who uses a computer 24/7, kids who play video games all their lives etc etc. it's excess strenuous activity on your wrists/arms/etcExcuse my ignorance but why would artists be more likely to suffer carpal tunnel and tendinitis?

^^^ exactly what I was just wondering.

Ok, so it's not just exclusively inherent in artists.Add XXL wrote:

Had the same because of playing guitar a lot (semi pro) and job as IT dude. Got it in both arms. Really sucked.
Strange, but I think in the end a chiropractor (?) helped me a lot. Besides that a lot of walking and adjusting my overall posture. -

This. Been adjusting my posture. I'm hopeful that it will help, along with working out and hand stretches. I've been told it can be reversed so we'll see what happens :)Add XXL wrote:

And no it's not exclusive to artists
It can happen to anyone who uses their hands/arms excessively(engineers, office workers, etc). -
Have you tried wrist splints or putting ice on your wrist ?
-
Yeah, I've tried both. Currently wearing a splint. Was icing it earlier.
-
When I usually start to feel pain in my wrist I just take a break and try not to use my hand, mainly sleeping it off

If you have carpel tunnel syndrome you will probably need an operation to free up the nerve

I'm an artist. Today, I turned my car into a sculpture - in about 10 seconds 😁
