So I was in another debate and it got me thinking, we have enough safety measure instilled in America and international airports (especially planes inbound for the US), and enough CIA and intel officers overseas to help the president know before hand on whether or not North Korea's gonna launch a nuke at us, or to uncover whether or not Iran has custody of a nuclear weapon, etc that shouldn't we stop playing "big brother - superpower" to other struggling nations and start dousing our attention on the home front? More specifically, the illegal immigration through our southern borders and how Mexico being so corrupt is dangerous to our national security. In my opinion, we do a military intervention in Mexico to tear down the drug cartels and help train and arm the Mexican military to defend their country. And after that, slowly move until the boarder of Panama and Columbia is reached where it is smaller and more manageable to secure than one as big as the US - Mexican border.

If that doesn't work, than I say the government should build a nice big concrete wall that xx amount thick an xx amount deep with guard stations like every 5 - 10 miles along the border. Opinions??

So long as drugs are illegal in the states and Mexico remains lawless, or northern wages are 10X better than south of the border... That wall could be 5000 feet high/deep and someone would still find a way to climb/dig around it.
