Scary book recommendations

I've read The Shining, Woman in Black,The Exorcist and I am legend. Can anyone recommend some others in that vein? And while you are at it a good true crime book ( I've read the body farm books by Bass,Cosa Nostra,Donnie Brascoe(?),Wiseguy and Paddy Whacked).

I read I am legend and the movie is completely different then the book there like 2 different stories

Crime / horror:
Mo Haider - Birdman.Detective with extremely nasty detail description. Made me feel nauseous a couple of times, but a big recommendation from my side, maily beause of the story and way of writing!

Greatest series is dan brown series. Best Classic is the serpent and the rainbow.
