What is a Forum Mod

What is their exact function and how do they go about their daily mod routines? I understand the general idea of policing the community from within & I am not saying I do or do not have a problem with this. I am just curious as to how they go about wrestling with the great responsibilities they have. I am sure it is not an easy task to be burdened with. Do they read every single thread & post that comes out? Do they split up the posts in some type of order to spread out the work load? Do they choose time slots? Are there times when no mods are monitoring what is going on? How are forum bans & suspensions decided on? Is their some type of criteria or is it random/at will enforcement? I would assume there must be some sort of vote prior to sanctions being imposed. How many mods are there & how often, if ever, are they replaced?
I wonder if this thread will even see the light of day? :)

If there are mods they probably outsourced from India. Then again the Idian rupee seems to be rising lately again after it's latest currency dip. So it possible the mods are outsourced from Vietnam.

I would've thought they were hand picked players with set guidelines. Kind of mods I'm used to in other forums.

If currency keeps going the way it has. They'll be "outsourced" back to the USA before long. Lol?😢
