This afternoon, there will be some software upgrades on my server.

I have backed up the server, and in the event of a major screw-up I will restore to 11:30AM EST.

I would suggest that users hold off on edits this afternoon until the all-clear is given.

The server is patched, but my efforts to bring all of my sites to PHP 5.3 were a fail.

Mediawiki and it's plethora of extensions is just too picky.

Do you even know what a plethora is?

Well, yeah. Fantastic. It's down again.

Maybe this is a good time to migrate the wiki to a newer distro. We'll see how this image restore goes.

Php 5.3 is just a b@tch.. It suddenly dropped a lot of features and deprecated stuff that has been in there for years... Took me quite some hacking to get certain websites to work again...

Ok: new server, new OS, new php, new wiki, new extensions.

And yes, some hacking in the older extensions to get them to work with php 5.3.

I dropped a few things, like the forums (not used much), the chat bar (good luck getting that POS to work right), and the temp codes (RIP TWDB).

Have at it!

If you have any problems, please let me know.

Yes I do. I do it with auto correct. Auto correct doesn't know how to spell maintenance in all caps. That is my my little protest.
