Audiophiles, i need your opinion.

Just entering the world of over ear headphones, bought my first decent pair yesterday, and i need an opinion.
I bought a pair of Skull Candy Hesh headphones. They're decent quality for what i listen to (generally loud music) and i've since looked up some reviews for their durability and such. All the reviews seemed to agree skullcrushers/ going with a different brand was the right choice. I'd like to know if i'm missing out on something here, and i'd also like your personal opinion on the best over ear headphones for under 100$ if possible. Also: Are the ear cups on the skullcrushers any bigger? The heshs are a bit uncomfortable, because they don't fully fit over my ears... Thanks for any help, because i'm truly confused at the moment as to who knows what they're talking about and who doesn't...

Grado - Even their cheapest will sound better than that Chinese crap.

Grab a pair of in-ear Beats

I'm not sure if the Bose over ear headphones fit your price range, but I can say that they have the best quality I have ever heard from any headphone.

I have Bose, I agree with Tweek, they are excellent. I use them with my guitar amp as well as with iPod, etc. Expensive but worth it.

Oh my god, right as i'm about to say that i think i'll stick with my hesh's for awhile, BOOM, right side's out.
Unbelievable.
Gonna return them tomorrow. I'll write down any suggestions and see what i can find. Thanks for the help :) -

You won't find them at big box stores. But if you have a high end audio store close by, take a listen for yourself on a pair that's broken it. These get better sound with age. Still hand made in the USA, deliver an awesome balanced sound.ՏωɑɱpƊṏɲƙɛγ 🍴💩💀 wrote:

I have a pair of skullcrushers. They do have big ear cups and it takes it's own battery powered subwoofer (😱 bass heaven in my ears). It's good quality but sounds like without the subwoofer on. They're also collapsible for easy transportation.

The bass booster skull candies are the best headphone I've ever listened to. They're $50

Bose is good.

Klipsch headphones are 10x better than beats.

I prefer skullcandy in-ear earbuds. Get FMJs or the FIXs. If you really want over the ear that's better than the heshs then you might want to spend more like $150 on aviators or carbons.
I've given skullcandy probably over $500 bucks (not just headphones) and I don't regret a penny of it. -

I'm reading that they're mainly made for listening to classic music, is that right? -
Sony zx300, end thread.

Do you want everything to sound like the recording or do you want it to be enhanced by the headphones? I'm an audio engineer and HATE when headphones alter the sound. Sennheiser HD280 headphones are the best headphones for around $100. They make it sound exactly like how the recording does. They have the HD380 for about twice the price that are supposed to be amazing and super flat sounding (which is what you want in my line of work).

Akg 240 studio headphones.
I think any pro audio studio quality headphones will beat non pro audio headphone(except Bose) good luck ask Havoc since he owns a studio ... And I just record myself for pseudo professional stuff... Demos and fun but mostly hobby -
I use altec Lansing in ear Bluetooth headset. $40 on eBay $80 at AT&T stores. They are loud and comfortable. No wires to get caught up in....

IMHO for over the ear it has to be Sennheisers - 598s have a good around sound. And deffiniteley NOT Beats, they have to be some of the worst balanced headphones I have ever listened to. Or perhaps klipsch for earbuds. S4s are good budgets or go for S5s if money allows. ⚠just my opinion and many would disagree I'm sure⚠

AKGI use AKG's, and these are all good recommendations. I also use Monoprice's earbuds, which sound like $60 headphones (but are an unbelievable $8...Google reviews).
Bose, Skull Candy, Beats, etc. all sound ok for casual listening, but they all color the sound and lack balance. They're consumer headphones. The brands Hav listed above are more what an actual audiophile would choose.

Not raking in the big money quite yet, so i have a budget.. Plus i'm saving for a car and for a new laptop ( old one fried...) so i really have a smaller budget than what i'd hope for. Hmm, are the Grado sr60's good? Any flaws?⌖🔥H@VOC🔥⌖ wrote:

Sorry, but a mild hijacking, I have skullcandy over ear headphones, and the sound doesn't work unless I tilt the headphone wire right near the part where it plugs into my iPhone just the right way. Did I mess up the wire or something? Note: I did wind the wire up across the headphones while not using them then tucked the plug in between the actual part where the sound comes out. Thanks.
