You see a shirt in a shop for £97. You don't hav enough to pay for it so you borrow £100 off your mam and dad. You buy th shirt and hav £3 change, you give £1 to your mam, £1 to your dad and keep £1 to your self. You owe your mam £49 and your dad £49. £49 plus £49 is £98 plus the pound you kept is £99, wat happened to the other pound?
-
The heck? Don't buy from that store if you're gomna go crazy over £1
-
Divide the poundin half & add it to what you've already paid them
-
Easy you owed your parents £48.50 for the shirt + £1. £49.50.
Two times £49.50 = £99
You keep the last pound.

There is no other pound. You have given £1 to each of your parents and still owe £49 to each. That's £100 total.

Not my answer
At the bottom where it say's "$49+$49=98 + your $1 = $99" is wrong.
You OWE your parents $100.00, you paid them $1 each, now you owe $98. If you had paid the $1 you kept for yourself, you would only owe $97.
So, You owe your parents $98, plus the $2 you already paid = $100.00.
The price of the shirt is irrelevant, and really so is the change. It's all about what you owe! -

If you borrowed 100, you owe them 50 apiece, not 49 apiece.
-
you borrowed 100. you pay them each 1. now you owe each 49. 49+49+1+1=100
97 for shirt plus gave them each 1 & 1 for you.
97+1+1+1=100 -
Throw it in the trash or be charitable
-
You owe your parents for the price of the shirt = 97
48.50 each (2x 48.50 = 97)
You give them 1 back, making 49.50 you have so far payed back (2x 49.50 = 99)
Plus your 1 = 100.
Voila! -
I got it. SHIT MAN that gives me like 10 Quetzales/my conutrys money.
