Dog Races

So Im at a dog race right now, first time ever, and I've already won 72$. I guessed the trifecta based on the first 3 digits of my phone number and got 50$ haha! Anyone else bet on these races? Right now I'm taking a mathematical route and averaging their times, then lining them up and basing my predictions off that. Any mobsters have any tips or suggestions?
