I don't get the political correctness around here, I really don't. I'm a little surprised no one here is bashing this guy for using the word.

I say who cares? Yeah, it's offensive, but so is calling someone an idiot, moron, stupid, dolt and a whole host of other terms that insults someone's intelligence. The mentally challenged have been called all the above before, yet they would somehow be less offensive?

Tattling? I just showed a player using the word not like I said "Guise lest go hit dis guh and level his turfz" if you want to send him a message telling him why he shouldn't use the word I'd be more than satisfied.

The way I read what they said, it sounded like they were telling everyone to shut up cuz its "just a word"

When I was new I made a thread just like this and had all my turf leveled within seconds. Be thankful that you have a big mob to protect yourself but trust me when I tell you that tattle telling is not acceptable here either. I learned the hard way

It shouldn't be used as a description of people with mental or physical disabilities either. The simple fact behind the word retard is the same as the word nigger. Because it has long been used as a derogatory term, it's use has become unacceptable. it's use in the medical field as been removed as well.

Actually, you're wrong. The word "retard (v)" means to slow. Hence mentally retatded meaning intellectually slow or slow motor skills. People like you get all up in arms because they don't know the true meaning of the word. and yes it is just a word. The connotation that you attach to it is your fault/problem.
