Thoughts on long distance relationships
Forums › General Discussion › Thoughts on long distance relationships-
My bf and I live 1000 miles apart. And only see each other twice a year. A lot of people I talk to all look at me funny, and I don't think my parents are completely agreeing to this. Just wanna know what your thoughts are

One time Tina Fay said "long distance is the wrong distance"
-
It's not worth it lol
-
Personally I wouldn't bother unless I had a relationship with the person for a couple years before they moved.
-
Not a good idea in my opinion
-
In my opinion it doesn't work.

Don't go for relationships at all. One night stands are far more productive. Ps bit my actual belief. But as a guy who was in a 50 mile long distance relationship and got his heart broken I wouldn't do any kind of distance again.

If you let distance dictate your relationships, you will never be in a good one.

I'm sorry to hear that :( but one night stands are kinda... Unstable, it's never the same. It would feel like I can never find a place to finally settle downDon't go for relationships at all. It doesnt work...

Think effort V's reward. Long distance = lot of effort little reward in short term. How old are you??? Unless there is a light at the end of the tunnel where you will be close I would suggest an open relationship. That way you are not cheating.

I find that a long distance relationship can show you the true strength of your relationship. If it can stand the tests that accompany a gap between the two lovebirds, then when they finally find their way back to eachother, they will be inseparable.
At least, that's what I believe 💘 -
I don't think I could do it, infact I know I couldn't do it. I have a few trust issues that are unresolved and stem from previous relationships and I have a hard time trusting anyone at all, friends included so there is no way I could trust that someone was being faithful being that distance away.

You heard the phrase "absence makes the heart go stronger?" I actually think what is really true is "absence makes the heart yonder"
Source: experience, in military got cheated on by ex-wife couldn't handle the "distance" and "loneliness" of me being gone she claimed. -

I'm in a long distance relationship I'm in NY and she's in SF and its been 3 yrs running and yes it's difficult but if you can withstand the distance and everything you guys can be invinsable(I think I spelt that wrong)

That military thing goes both ways. Cause I have seen military personnel on deployments cheat once they've been gone awhile. One in particular stood out she cheated on her husband caught an STD and obviously had to tell her husband. I don't know if they ever worked out. I personally wouldn't be in a long distance relationship unless I really REALLY trusted the person. Otherwise you might as well wait if they're still waiting great, if not at least you won't be let down. I'm a male for the comment earlier about my spouse not being able to keep it in their pants I think it was really more of not being able to keep people out of her pants. Lol 😝

People change as well. So be prepared to get to know this significant other especially if a lot of time transpires in between being gone.
