So I've had a stomach Ulcer and Severe acid reflex for a while. But lately I've been able to tell its gotten worse. I'd rather not mention how. When I found out I had it the doctor told me that there is a chance it could turn into stomach cancer. My question for you the community is have you had either the ulcer or acid reflex situation I have and do you know any solutions to help make it easier on the stomach aches.

Over-the-counter Prilosec (Omeprazole is the generic) or Zantac (never did it for me). Cut back on acidic/spicy foods. Yeah, that sucks. And, oddly enough, elevating the head of your bed about six inches helps with the ickiness at night. But that's just for reflux which is bad enough. Often you need a doc for the ulcer.

have you had an endoscopy?

there is a medication called "Carafate" aka "Sulcrafate" that coats the surface of damaged tissue and protects it from stomach acid while healing. It's expensive, but can be very effective. You should probably also be on an acid blocker like Protonix to lower the acidity of your stomach while the ulcer heals. If it's bleeding (and particularly if it was not before), then you should see your doctor!!

Yeah I've had the endoscopy and I take a pill every morning for both ulcer and acid reflex. I had the endoscope about 4.5 months ago.

I had one last week. Was puking blood. Doctor said it was from drinking. Stupid doctor.

if it's worsening, I would go back to your gastroenterologist and have a follow-up... if there's something wrong, they can deal with it & you'll be a lot more comfortable. If you ignore it, it may progress beyond where it's easily dealt with...

I had it when I was younger.. Mine was stress induced. Cut out the spicy/hot food and acid. Still have a problem with it occasionally when I each too much fried food or over do the orange juice. And I live orange juice:( best of luck

Yeah I can't have chocolate, spicy/hot, or a lot of caffeine. And I live for all three things.
