Etching plates
Forums › General Discussion › Etching plates-

There was a toy I had as a kid that consisted of interchangeable plastic plates with raised etchings on them in the shapes of superheros. They were split up into head & shoulders, torso & waist down sections. You could put the head from the hulk onto the body of plasticman with the lower portion being wonder woman for example. You would then put a piece of paper over the plates and rub with a crayon or pencil to transfer the image.
I have been searching everywhere for something similar to this for my kids & haven't been able to find anything anywhere. I honestly don't even know what terminology to use when looking on line. Describing it to store clerks is useless. Anyone have any suggestions.

It's amazing to me that nothing like this is made anymore. Everything is digital or electronic & instant gratification. It's no wonder there is such a high level of ADD in today's youth. 🙍

My sisters have a set like that...
Have to admit its funny as hell to Distract them right before they color it, and switch out a plate :p hahahaha

Along these lines, in the 60's there was a toy called the Thingmaker, where you poured "Plastigoop" into a metal mold and heated it until it became a Creepy Crawler (bug-like thing). Surprised I didn't burn down the house with that thing.
