Life choices?
Forums › General Discussion › Life choices?-
In my school I get made Fun of because I want a good life and I try and get good grades.
Question: if I work harder when I'm young will I have a good job that's not too stressfull.
And I think some of the people don't understand that good grades are good and bad grades will get you nowhere in life. -
I'm an athlete who does the same and makes good choices as well. Someday they're gonna regret the shit they did, and if they don't, their lives aren't amounting to much.

Less stress?
Yeah right xD
Life will always be stressful. You'll never escape the stress :/ -
I'd like to point out that 90% of the time, your job will be stressful. No matter what job you get.
You could be a massage practice dummy, and still would be stressed by something :P
But yeah :p smarter people ussualy get the bigger job ;)
When your their boss, stick out your tongue, 😝 nah nah hhaha -
People work hard their entire lives in an effort to relax in the end, others relax their whole lives

I did ok at school but wish I had done alot better. If your clever its worth pushing yourself. Fortunately I got a job in construction and now earn a considerable more than some of my pals who got degrees, but I know i am never going to be a millionaire. 😞

Keep up the good grades. It will pay off down the road. Or you could always flip burgers for a livin.
-
It's your life to make the choices that affect it. Keep up the good work & don't let other people bring you down.

You have the live the person you expect yourself to be. Every day. If you have a plan. If you are working toward a goal, a future, do not allow others to distract you or bring you down.
Will there be stresses along the way? Certainly. But, rarely is something special, something worth having, ever just given to you. Some of the best things in life are rewards for hard work.
Keep the focus. Keep the faith.👍

So my perfect attendance and straight A's will pay off also being an honer student

Don't burn bridges. Not working hard in high school burns bridges, i.e. limits your full potential which limits your full capabilities.

If you work hard and make good grades, you will likely get a better job than others. But if we stay on the course of the current U.S. administration, your success will be punished by higher taxes to feed, clothe, and insure the the non-achievers and non- productive -- the ones making fun of you for studying.
-
You'll make more money but you won't be less stressed. Tbh the higher paying jobs tend to be more stressful, because they require specific skills that you're working hard to learn now. But lower paying jobs make life in general more stressful lol.
-
Okay I'll just keep up the good work

Good grades get you into good schools/programs. That leads to a good paying job. Not necessarily less stressful but then you can afford nice toys that will help you destress :)

The key to having a good job that isn't too stressful is picking a career that you truly want to do. I would choose making less money at a job I love over making more money at a job I hate any day.

All it took was working one day in a manufacturing plant, doing the same thing over and over again to make me eternally grateful I studied and went to college. In my school I get made Fun of because I want a good life and I try and get good grades.

And I think some of the people don't understand that good grades are good and bad grades will get you nowhere in life. That being said, good grades do not guarantee a good job - hard work is usually rewarded though. But bad grades almost guarantee you won't get a good job. And trust me, unless you own the burger joint, you won't make as much money as you will with a degree (unless you get a degree in something like art history...)

I have four college degrees, including a graduate degree and a professional degree. People don't make fun of me anymore.

Oh, and as others have said, usually better jobs do have more stress involved. In general, the more pay => the more pressure to earn that pay => the more stress. It's best to find something you love doing, so that the stress will be easier to handle.

I am in my late twenties. Just saw someone from my graduating class who had that negative attitude and made fun on the smart/studious people. He pushes carts now for minimum wage with no employer benefits.
