Do you think playing games is a waste (honestly, no point lying to yourself) of you life! Sometimes I sit at home thinking "I waste my life on games" but then at other times I think "well if I enjoy them, then it's no a waste". What do you think?

Cats play for fun, but the real purpose is to hone their hunting skills.

Someday down the road in your life, a dog will jump in front of your moving car. Because of your finely tuned reflexes, parallel processing abilities, and spacial coordination, you will swerve left instead of right, saving the dog, your car, and the child on the sidewalk.

This sort of thing happens all the time.

People need down time. They need to relax, have fun, etc. If games help them do this, then they aren't a waste.

I agree. Every game hones some kind of skill. Although too much of anything isn't a good thing. Which is the real issue

Logically I know that is true. However, I'm a gaming addict, so I'm not good with gaming in moderation. 😼

I figured most people would say there not, make themselves belive their not wasting their lives, not saying thats why any of you said it. But I think if I asked this in a non-gaming forum the answers would be different

Lol so am I, I also get very competitive! I used to play runescape (mmo online) and my friends had started playing about a month before me! I wanted to catch up so badly! I ended up with higher levels of everything in less then a month

TSM (TeamSoloMid) are pro gamers that are all under 25years of age, live in a gaming house. Their site alone makes 300k a year and they probably make about 1k a day each (there is 5 of them) streaming on own3d.tv.

I think games can be a waste. But, people waste time one way or the other, that's life. It's when you constantly choose playing a game over other options - seeing friends, getting outside, etc, that it becomes a real problem.

I think that if you asked intelligent people, they would agree that people need time to relax & have fun. Different people find different things fun. I don't enjoy watching sports, but I'm not going to say that other people are wasting their life when they do so. Each person has to pick what works for him/her.

More like work a waste of time. I'm at work more then with my family. But as I write this I am feeding my daughter.

True, something makes sports more socially acceptable among the general public! I think people who font play games dont realise a massive part of it is the social aspect

Want the truth? Our existence is absolutely pointless. Any purpose or drive you may feel in life is an illusion, thanks to the simple fact that beings with the illusion of drive and purpose reproduce more.
