How long you've been around doesn't matter there is always aspects of the game to learn.
The way I see it is the guy is a new player probably went cap happy or made some inforgivable post like posting his code in the GD and a bunch of people jumped all over him and he reset. Now he is asking for help so he doesn't make the same mistake and a bunch of guys jump all over him again.
