June 22 1941
4.5 million Axis forces invade the soviet union. It is the largest invasion in history in all 8 countries participate and a total of 6 million troops are involved, 20 thousand tanks, 50 thousand aircraft and 90 thousand artillary pieces. The Soviets were woefully unprpared, of 40 thousand aircraft only a forth of them (mostly old biplanes) were combat effective, the USSR was the only major country with a Calvary. Thousands of good officers were shot by Stalin. Worse the soviets knew exactly where when and how many Axis troops were attacking, and Stalin ordered his forces not counter any move made by the Nazis. Within months the
Nazis mad rapid advances, the Urkaine had fallen, three soviet armies were knocked out of the war Stalingrad was beseiged, and the Gremlin could be
seen through Nazis with binnoculars. I'm a history nerd...

In the end the Russians cirlced the Germans and beat them at their own game.

There was really no need to even try to take Stalingrad except for pride. I wonder what would of happen if they skipped that city all together.

If he hadn't split his forces and taken England, which would have happened eventually, the world would be very different.

I wonder what would happen if he told his generals to take Moscow instead
of Stalingrad.

If hitler didn't decide his forces eg half in the east and west and those in the east being split again he would have owned Moscow and with it an easy gateway through then he would have exploited the oil fields made several thousand v2 missles and leveled England Nazis would win hands down
