🐘 My Trip is OFFICIAL! 🐫

  So I was just debriefed at work today and it's exciting to say that I'll be going to Africa for a week for work. 😊

  I will be visiting Kenya, Ethiopia, South Sudan, and Uganda and help around.

  Just some exciting news I wanted to tell you guys. 😁 I heard the scenery is really beautiful there!

  I'll be leaving this Sunday and come back next Sunday. I was planning to take my phone and lay some turfs... But I can't bring any personal electronics for purposes. 😥

  I KNOW RIGHT? I said this exactly to my boss "so I can carry a firearm on the plane.. But not my iPhone? 😢"

  Before you say anything, I highly doubt my iPhone can cause a disturbance in the navigational devices of the plane... 😜

  In places like Ethiopia and Johhanesburg there's streets. (Yea ik Ethiopia is a country and Johhanesburg isn't)

  Never was going to say it would lol. Just put it inside a sock in your luggage with stuff on top of it or something like that so you can hide the iPhone 😜

  Don't count on local food being very good. At least in east Africa. Some is decent. Bland, very bland. Now the scenery, that is simply amazing.

  I cannot recall the names, it's been years. Little bowls of paste like things seemed the most tasty. The coasts had the most spicy food-the Arab influence I think. Inland was basic grain/limited protein. Kenya had lots of grains and stringy beef. Actually went to a place were they served eland, giraffe, croc and wildebeest. It was called The Carnivore and was in Nairobi. Sort of a brazilian steakhouse with odd meats. My advice is follow the leads of the locals. They know it all better than you. When in Rome...

  Sounds... Adventurous. Did you try any giraffes? Or crocs?

  Yes. I hate to say it but giraffe tasted the best. Felt bad since they are so cool. Croc was sort of white and flaky like fish. Eland and wildebeest were pretty bad. Like beef from a cow that was never fed. Experience was worth it.

  Giraffe was light, almost sweet.
  Oh, be sure to take the malaria drugs they give you and get some vaccines up to date. An army major I was with had to be flown out of the middle of nowhere(samburu country) because of sickness.
  You will have fun, it's an adventure. Be safe.
