Foreign oil dependency
Forums › General Discussion › Foreign oil dependency-
I hate it when I hear people complain about gas prices, blame the president and say we should just use our own oil. These people need to take their heads out of their asses, seriously what makes them think that a couple states with a little bit of oil could be enough to supply the highest consuming nation in the world?

Right people are so fucking dumb, they think they know shit is simple, if it was we wouldn't be having this problem, derp derp. Anyways I sometime think we can just spend about 500million dollars an build farms in Africa to feed them... Obviously I guess it's not possible yet...

We don't have enough to supply ourselves. So we import it.
Hate to say it, but the majority of us Americans are first to complain about the oil, but last to do anything about it as we fill up our big SUV and Pickup Trucks with gas.
I'm guilty of it.
The only thing that makes me use less is when the price goes up. I'm a slob like most others.
Sure, I agree, we need alternate energy sources, energy we can produce right here, that is not only cost efficient for the energy, but also for the technology that uses it.
Things have come a long way over just the past 10 years. Hopefully it keeps progressing, and hopefully someday we'll see our "need" for overseas resources decline to the point we can supply our own energy needs. -

Well said. My truck gets 5 miles to a gallon but I don't bitch everytime I fill up, I pay it and go on with my life.We don't have enough to supply ourselves. So we import it.

My car (97 Mitsubishi 3000GT) gets only 15 MPG. I get tired of paying $80 just to fill that up so I end up switching to my 30 MPG bike. If people don't like paying that much for gas, trade for something that gets better MPG. Like we would say, trade up or shut up 👍

We are only gettin 50% of the oil we could be in alaska. There still untapped oil deposits on the California coast. I agree that we could not sustain ourselves but we could drive the prices down if we were able to produce all that we could.

You guys don't seem to understand that the oil companies are ripping you off. Go look at Exxon's quarterly profits. They make an astronomical amount of money off of us. Congress doesn't care because they are getting their kickbacks.
