Tonight, where ever you are.. Go outside, look to the west into the sky. And there you will see to VERY bright objects next to eachother. Those to Objects are the two planets "Mars, and Venus" Venus will be on the right, Mars will be on the left.
Happy Astronoming!

That's awesome. What's the reason they are visible tonight?

If you are interested in astronomy, check out the app called skyview. A very cool little tool for finding things in the sky.

Why are mars and Venus flashing red lights and moving across the sky???
-
Did you mean Venus and Jupiter? It's not Mars. The latter is the smaller.
We've had both visible for over a week next to each other. I did also mention it a few days back in the post regarding solar flares.
-
Most planets are always visible, and you can always stand up a broom, regardless of when you try to do it.
-
The reason is because Venus' orbit brings it around in line of sight to Jupiter with Mars not in the middle.

We are getting Venus and Jupiter in the southern hemisphere, with a guest appearance from Mars low in the sky.
Also, had an Aurora from the solar flare a few nights back. Awesome month for viewing planets. -

Nope. From here, Saturn is in the south, Mars is south-west and Venus/Jupiter is in north.Vadan™ v2.0 wrote:

If you have trouble finding them download the app from apple. Makes it easy to spot them. If they aren't on that map they are aliens.
-
Read my best day ever thread. There is now way I'm goin out there. No sir!
-
They have been visable for a few months now. At one time they where aligned with our moon.
-
I noticed that. Mars is also out there. 😊

Yep, have been enjoying those every night for the past week from the hot tub Last night scattered clouds would block out one, then the other and then both would come back. Pretty damn cool.
