I went to the Mayan ruins of tulum Mexico two years ago and the tour guide there didn't believe in it...he claimed to be of Mayan decent and thought it was bogus...so I don't beleive it...

I'm nit really into thus kinda stuff but Nostradamus said the world ends in 3019.... Just some interesting stuff I guess -
Well I have some nastradamus shows recorded but didn't watch them yet. I can tell you though that the Myan calandar restarts every so many years (don't know exact number) but in 2012 it's supposed to end and not restart... It's unknown if the myans didn't get to the next cycle or what happened but many people interpret it as a hint to doomsday.

I think it's all crap. Remember what happened on June 6th in 2006?!?! Nothing. I figure it's something as simple as the Mayan calendar man just croaked as he was working on the map...I mean hey, it had to stop somewhere.

All the 2012 end-of-the-world spin is modern new age stuff, not Mayan. The Mayan longcount calendar ends... and then it restarts. It's a lot like what happens to our calendar on Dec. 31.

I don't believe it but I wouldn't call it bogus either. the mayans predicted a astronomy based calender that predicted over 1000 years in the futre that janary 19, 2010 would be a Tuesday. My guess is that the calender maker planned his calender his whole life and wen he died his son said somthing the long the lines of "F$&@ 2012 I'm gonna be a fisherman"

Street king they didn't lie, what miss Molly is saying is that there is more than the myan calandar. There's alot to do with astronamy it's down to a science now, but there is still no proof it's just the unknown that scares people, so they make up possibilities.

After being shook on 12/31/99 I don't believe in this stuff at all. I believe in 2012 because it's literally inevitable, it's not like we go from 2011 to 2013 lol.

The Mayan long count ends in 2012. It's the same thing as our millenium but for the Maya it happens every 26,000 years or something. The calander doesnt end on that day anymore then ours ended on 2000.
But like us the Maya were weird about it. Our culture forsaw doom for y2k and 1000 years before they also were sure it was the end of the world. It's just supersition.
And it's astrology, not astronomy. Big difference. Also no can predict the future, it's impossible. It would mean the future is deterministic which is nuts.
