Over the past few days I took the last two months of GD posts, did a character count by poster and then divided that by each poster's mob count. Then, I made some general assumptions on characters per minute for forum posts and the corollary of temp code entry per minute. Lastly, I applied generally accepted temp code return rates and retro-forecasted the above form post character counts into a temp code model and interpolated a current mob size to forecasted mob size delta. (actually assigned a numerical score based on mob growth per month / forum characters per month or G/T [Grow Talk.] )

With posting all the complex equations and raw data, what I found was: 'some people' have would have some freaking HUGE mobs if their thumbs hit a few temps for every post they made. Names and scores witheld out of respect. ;-)

I'm calling my findings 'The adverse relationship between mob growth and forum posts - or big mouth, small mob'
