Corornal mass ejection apx 5.4 directed at Earth

I heard about this today. Its the biggest ejection in a long while too. Dont know for how long though.
A week before the quake off of japan. Their was a huge solar flare. Do you think this ejection will cause a earthquake or other effects in the week or weeks to come?

They're saying it's the most powerful of the cycle so far. There was 1 on 2n that missed us but this 1 may just chip us. If it does, it'll disrupt satellites but no lasting damage.
I'm not sure solar flares would trigger earthquakes, it mainly affects electro-magnetic energy in the atmosphere. But, if strong enough I think it could start a chain reaction that can cause the earths crust to trigger an earthquake or tsunami. I'm no geology expert though.

Expect more frequent solar flares over the next 2 years. We are edging closer to the solar maximum in this 11 year cycle expected 2013/14.
Also I'm fairly sure that solar flare before the japan earthquake wasn't large enough to cause an earthquake nor is there any evidence supporting the concept solar flares could lead to earthqaukes. -

Surely if that's possible, so are natural disasters?

The most intense solar flares are definetly expected mid to late 2013 possibly stretching to early 2014.
The strongest solar storm on record in 1859 caused fires on the power grid but as far as I'm aware did not cause any natural disasters. Therefore it seems hard to believe a much lesser storm could cause such a strong earthquake. -

I recall something about massive solar flares and having a bad effect on earth back in the '70s. We couldn't go outside for recess. Was like a boring rainy day schedule.

Maybe that is what's fucking up all the animals migrating paths. Expect more beached whales and birds dropping from the sky?

Because of this, Aurora Borealis should be visible tonight, for all you north-dwelling people like me :)

We're all gonna die!!!!!

Death....from the sky

Did anybody think of "knowing" when they heard about these flares? Bad movie, by the way.

Death by solar wind. Sounds fun.
