I've always wanted a good laser pointer any ideas?

Yeah. I've got a great one. Try looking online and looking at prices and reviews instead of this inane thread. That'd be a fabulous start.

Any 5mw would be excellent. Anything else above that would be considered illegal and need FDA approval.

High mW lasers can be dangerous I've looked but the only good ones are 100mW +

Git mine on eBay. Go for green, they are much brighter than red.

I have got a red and green 100mW laser pointer.. Also a nehe 9mW red laser tube they are all great.. And very powerfull..

Look up laser pointers in YouTube they have one that will melt plastic and start shit on fire. I want one but it cost $500 I can't justify paying that much for one but it would be fun

Here's a tip: green laser with a feedback loop.

Most diode lasers are rated at 5mw MAX, but actual output is less.

Some lasers measure the output and pump more current if it drops below the full 5mw. Expect to pay more for this feature.

Higher ratings are available, but restrictions apply.

eBay. Get a pen one that uses aaa batteries, and get the green one, there 50 times stronger than red. $7 tops for me
