2013 ASTEROID COLLISION??
Forums › General Discussion › 2013 ASTEROID COLLISION??-
So I'm on reddit when I see something about a 60-meter asteroid on a collision course with earth. I couldn't bring myself to finish reading the article. If it collides with us, there will be a crater the size of Luxembourg(I think that's the country).
Here's the depressing part: of we send a spaceship to try and destroy it, the spaceship would be completed in 2014. One person says we could paint it with reflective paint, which would reflect the sons rays off it and make it change direction, but scientists say that could make it even more catastrophic when it comes back around in 2064(I believe that was the year).Thoughts?

Let's hope it changes it's mind on what planet to hit then.

"sons" I am disappoint...

It's just like 2012 when nothing happends they look for something to freak shit about
-
60 meters? How could they spot that so far in advance?
You better ask Reddit if they are sure.

Scientist are planning on painting the asteroid that way it deflects the suns heat and changes it's course due to it cooling down
-
Gonna need some big brushes and a long extension ladder.

Here I'll go get the link so you guys can read it yourself. Let me know if I missed anything cuz I can't bein myself to finish the article lol

It's diameter is actually estimated to be 350 metres.

NASA says 44 meters. DA14, right? It's diameter is actually estimated to be 350 metres.
Cumulative impact probability: .00021
Or 1 in 4760 chance.
Or 99.979% chance of a complete miss.
And that's forever. Not just this pass.

I never question anything I read on the intrawebz. It's all true.
-
Aaaaaand... 2.3MT?
Psh. Even if it hit, most likely nobody would be hurt. The odds of the 20 miles it hits being populated is low.
-
Except the scientific community has proved it won't collide with us, if you would've finished the article. No conspiracy there, i've actually been studying this for awhile now. There is NO way it will hit us.

Was looking at 99942 Apophis.

U should ask the Internet how to stop it, since they know everything
-
Off topic. Venus and Jupiter are both within close proximity and visible tonight.
-
Is that the astroid that is passing by earth friday the 13th this year, but is "supposed" be close enough next year to hit. It gets closer every year cuz earths gravity pulls the orbit closer. That one? Curious I heard about it briefly on radio so do not know much, or if it is that one.

Yes I've studied this that asteroid would destroy a continent but it would orbit us for 10 years so what do we have to worry , I have already devised various stragities to stop it so ha meteorActually the asteroid is ment to hit in 2039 so we've Still got 27 years left.
