Girls proposing to guys on leap day❔
Forums › General Discussion › Girls proposing to guys on leap day❔-
So apparently this is the one day of the year that a girl can propose to her boyfriend.
What's your opinion?
I get a strange picture when I imagine a female down on one knee proposing, like its backwards or something lol. Don't get me wrong I'm all for new and different ways of doing things but it just doesn't look right when pictured in my head.I have a close friend who has been waiting for her fiancé to pop the question for 3 years and she was seriously considering asking him on leap day and then she backed out.
So, would you say yes if your girlfriend asked you to marry her?
If you answer yes and you're comfortable with the thought of marriage, why haven't you asked her yet?
Love to hear other females views on this one too :)-Mrs G👿

I feel that it is the guys responsibility to ask the woman (and father) for her hand in marriage. I also think it is the girls responsibility to sweat it out and wait to be proposed to.
-
Whoever asks, doesn't matter. If the fella is procrastinating then feck it, the woman should propose with an ultimatum.. Now or never lol
-
Absolutely I would say yes. Hahaha I'd be a little sad I didn't get the chance to ask, but I'd be happy she loves me enough to do it ;)
I haven't asked her yet.... Well.. Haha it's complicated, very long story..
As far as I'm concerned, as long as someone's doing the proposing, it's all good ;) -

I agree. I'm kinda old fashioned like that. Granted I didn't really propose to my wife. We kinda just talked about getting married one day and just came to a general agreement to do it lol. Then just started planning the wedding.I feel that it is the guys responsibility to ask the woman (and father) for her hand in marriage. I also think it is the girls responsibility to sweat it out and wait to be proposed to.

Haha, Killer G and myself did this also... But he already had my dads permission, or my dad had no choice as I was already pregnant by then and he liked Killer G anyway 😝࿈࿇JCM5࿇࿈ wrote:

I'm old fashioned as well. I've always been of the belief that the wedding is for her... But the proposal is for me.
I had an ex give me an ultimatum before, and the EX got her answer.
(there were many many things wrong in that relationship and her solution was that marriage would fix everything.)

Haha does your dad call him Killer G? That would be awesome!

Same lol. We were dating for awhile, talked about getting married, but put it off. Then she got pregnant so it was back on again. Lol.Ꮹཞ།ཀཀ wrote:

I think she would say... Wait till tomorrow

I don't see why a girl should have to wait until a leap day. If she wants to propose she can do it when ever she wants. Times have changed, they will continue to change. What's normal today will some day be old fashioned. To each tere own I say. 😄

And you also believe that women should do whatever their husbands say and their soul duty is to make babies. I think if a girl really wants to get married she'd propose or at least have a frank conversation about it.

I don't like ignorant old fashioned values.

If that was the case I would tell Mrs Killer to shit up and get in the kitchen. But as you can see I didn't do that at all and gave her my honest opinion. Sounds like you need to check and see if someone didn't put a stick in your chair.࿈࿇JCM5࿇࿈ wrote:

So what this boils down to is a woman's rights and responsibilities then?
I am young (22) and married with a young child, I'm not old fashioned but I do believe it is in the job description of wife to provide a clean home and a meal when your husband returns from work. Its definately not the sole purpose or the sole responsibility of a wife but if you're not working and your husband is working to provide financially for your family then why doesn't he deserve that? -
Does she buy her own ring as well? That would be perfect. Maybe I'll be waiting and hoping for four more years. Lol

I don't see why a woman should have to wait to be proposed to. It is a serious conversation that needs to happen at some point in a relationship that seems to be heading down that route (ie serious & long term).
We did it all backwards, ie kids, bought house, etc.
I asked, but I knew the answer. I'd also have answered "yes" if she had asked first.

I still wonder if she's committed enough.... 😉

I don't know about proposing but I always planned that I would get married on feb 29th of leap year so I would only have an anniversary once every 4 years.
