Yes, they can,
But there are factors such as capture distance and level % and other things I don't really understand..
I'm sure someone else can explain better

It used to be a way to keep from getting capped, but that has changed. Once you pass level 50, it doesn't matter at all.

Actually it depends. If your trying to cap a turf, it needs to be 50% of your turfs influence

Example. My closest turf to my opponents turf has 44 influence and my opponents turf has 86 inf. I can cap him cuz my turf has > 50% of the opponents turf influence. If I went to 43 or 42 influence it wouldn't work. And this is turf influence not overall influence and I think it should work on any level

Ok so let's say somebody with way bigger than is coming for me and I drop it to 40 and he still a 86 they can't take it?

YES! You are past level 50. You can lose every single turf.

They could they just need more than half of your influence. If you drop it to 40 you have to remember, 86 is more than 50% of 40 but I think if you hit their turf enough to keep it under 50% of your turfs inf they can't cap you

Basically, your screwed on gas day. Sell all your turf and bank all your money so you can re buy it the day after. Be scared, be very Afraid. If you have turf its im terrible terrible danger.

Your over level 50.
Even if you only had 1 , 1inf turf left, it could be capped.
