The Ideaology of Corp. CEOs
Forums › General Discussion › The Ideaology of Corp. CEOs-
Everyday you always hear everyone (adults, teenagers) complain about the price of everyday goods produced by big corporations. I mean it's okay to complain but I just find it funny because I'm in an Economics class and we've discussed things like the price of gas. Okay here's why I think it's funny. Big corporations who make money off products are rich for a reason. They know that no matter how much they may jack up the price of an item, people will complain. Then buy it. For example, gas. Currently gas is often used for factories, cars, etc. It is used so often that without gas, society would crash and products would not be produced. So oil giants (corporations) know that "Oh we can raise gas at whatever price we want! People are always going to buy it!" Corporations are smart, they are rich for a reason. So basically this thread is saying, 1. Moving into a business and trade that society can't live without is a good move. 2. What do you think is a necessity to society that has jacked up prices. (examp: oil)

I think I'll reduce the cost of my oil and grab a bigger chunk of the market!
Someone is actually TEACHING this crap. Oh the humanity.

The "ideaology" of your economics teacher is obvious.
-
Well it's true haha
-
Wow... Hope your failing economics class for misunderstanding and they aren't actually teaching this.
Let's assume what your saying is true: Oil companies should raise gas prices to $1000/gallon (you'll buy it anyways). Bread companies should charge $500 for a loaf of bread (you'll buy it anyways). Obama should raise the minimum wage to $8000/hour (the rich companies will pay it anyways). Then everyone would be happy and wealthy... NOT!

Isnt that why oil companies bought the rights to a water ppwer car, amd slowed the electric car, and stopped many countries from having nuclear power? I think so...

Yeah let's just completely throw OPEC out of the oil equation. And supply and demand. Then what u r saying makes perfect sence!!!
