Breastfeeding??

Can someone tell me why people are so weird about women breastfeeding? It's so annoying to me. Most women show more walking down the street in their normal shirts than they do nursing.

If you use one of those Ta Ta Tents or cover everything up with a blanket or something then it's whatever, but I'm not trying to see any titty suckling while I'm at the DMV or trying to get my Wetzel's Pretzel on.
-
Yes, but a lot of babies hat those and during the summer it's not practical at all, not to mention a good way to overheat your baby.
-
Are we talkin about breast feeding in public or just breast feeding in general?
-
In public. I just told you that.
-
It's natural & part of life & all that. I get that. Some things are socially acceptable & some aren't. You adapt to your surroundings, conform or you don't. that goes for anything, really.
-
I always pumped if I was gonna be going out with the baby, during the short time I was able to nurse at all.
-
I also think those covers draw more attention to the situation. Most moms can do it without showing anything. Trust me, if a mom has her while frigging boob hanging out, it's on purpose either for attention or to prove a point.

Who decides what's ok and what's not? Our superficial society has so many senseless taboos it ain't funny.

Also, I think these restrictions are one of the reasons why women breastfeed such a short amount of time and why we overall have such a low bfing rate in this country. We should be making nursing as easy and happy as possible for women to encourage them to do what's healthiest for their babies.

I didn't for long but over here in Australia we have parents rooms that have big comfortable chairs and you can sit and feed bub in peace. I think I did a couple of times in public when my son was very young but I used a wrap over to cover myself.
Really I have no problem and I plan to bf my next baby too but I also think there are some women who go way too far with exposing themselves. You can do it discreetly without a blanket or anything and without your whole boob hanging out.

This. Plus my mum had three children, and never needed to publicly breast feed. As a guy it's never bothered me, and I never understood why it was such an issue. As far as the exposure factor my attitude has always been "if it doesn't bother you that I might see your boob, why should it bother me?"
As far as the feeding factor: we all have to eat... At least you're taking care of your baby. And in all honesty, I'd rather a mother pop a nip in public than have to hear a screaming, hungry baby anyway.
Right?
-
Baby needs to suck on some titty. I can respect that. And as such I have no issue with it...
The real point we should all be making isn't that we have a problem with normal women breast feeding... Its the rough as fwack women doing it... I don't wanna see them titties at the best of time let along with a poor baby (who doesn't know how rough the bird is) attached

Breast feeding in public make me REALLY uncomfortable. I find it so hard not to stare or even look in that general direction.
I'm not good at resisting the urge to stare at the best of times. I'm just natural starer :/

It's illegal in the uk to try and stop a woman from breast feeding in public. So that's good news for you, Yan. -

I'm just stating why I'd understand some people would want it banned :) -
I only breast fed for 3 months because my evil mother fed my son formula when I wasn't around...or I was asleep. It's natural, people can Be Perves though.

This, my wife just ha my son on the 10th, and from the get go I wanted her to breast feed. She didn't bf her first child but luckily for me she agreed. Our baby was only 34 weeks old at birth and I know that the BF milk is doing way better than why formula would. Also my wife now enjoys being able to feed him. I know it makes them closer. She probably wouldn't feed in public, we store her BF milk in the fridge/freezer in case and bring it in a little special container that makes it last 24hrs. BF babies are stronger and healthier. 💪👶.cj brown wrote:

That's enough attention whorig from me

Also it feels awesome when doctors: nurses asks of we are BF him; then the get happy and excited, makes us feel like its the best thing for himc, which it is
-
Well it is if you're eating healthy, anyway. If you're scarfing McDonald's all the time it's not gonna be so great.

We don't eat fast food😉

The breast feeding vs formula debate has been around since formula was invented. Yes breast milk is natural and better for the babies immune system as the mother passes on her immunities through milk, but the formula made nowadays is almost comparable in every other way due to the probiotics and how refined it is now. Nobody should feel any less of a mother for not breatfeeding and alot of people like myself were forced to stop due to medical reasons. My son was breastfed in the beginning and he got everything he needed through the colostrum before I had to switch to formula. Kids who are formula fed are not anything less than kids who are breastfed, although it does concern me when people don't even give it a try and do formula because it's "more convenient".

👆👆👍👍.
He does have to take 4 oz of Neosure a day. ATM he drinks 2oz every 3hrs or so. So we break it up and give him 2 bottles of 2oz. And yeah you are right, it doesn't make a mother any lesser sorry if it came out that way.
