I've no experience on the Mazdas but normally it can be around the six year / 60k mile mark. It'll be over due I reckon so best get it done.

I have a quick question for any mechanics. The front drivers side end of my car sunk really low to the point where the tire is almost hitting the wheel well. What could cause this?

Well, more than likely any way. Depending on make could be coil spring, strut.... Suspension related anyways.

The coil spring on the stut could have broke, not to bad of a fix as long as the strut is not damaged

Will need to bring to shop unless you have a spring compressor tool,

If it's gotten that bad you should inspect ball joints, tie rod ends, and any suspension bushings for excessive wear. Always repair both sides and get an alignment when replacing struts.Charlie Seiga wrote:

Don't change it if it's never been changed before. The manufacter puts stuff in it when it's new that u won't replace when u change it. Trust me, if u flush it it will go out within 6 months.

Mac is right in saying that some 'boxes are sealed units with "lifetime" oil in them. These would only need changing if issues arose. The ones I've seen change on sealed 'boxes are normal when the gear changes are sloppy or harsh on an auto box.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it is called "automatic transmission fluid", so manual boxes don't have itsquishedfrog wrote:

What I'm saying is that if ur car has never had one and it's at say 125,000 miles then don't do it. I know people are gonna say I'm wrong. If u change it now that tranny won't make it another 25k.

You can drain it, but do not flush it, any trash, dirt and whatnot that has settled will be spread allabout your transmission. Just drain, and change the filter.

I'm probably just going to junk it because the transmission is going anyways:( I loved driving that carJeremy B wrote:

It's at about 170km and manuel. ThE only problem is I can't check it. There's a little screw under the car where they check it. I was just wondering If the flush would spread all the crap in there around.
So I guess I'll change it and the filter but no flush? Sound good? -
The flush gets all the grime off the inside walls and then your filter cops it. If you do a flush be prepared to change your filter another time soon after as it'll get clogged with everything.
I remember flushing the fuel in my skyline and because it hadn't been done in a long time not only did I have a stuffed filter but the fuel pump shit itself too.
Flush is great if it's used regularly from new but if you have a car that hasn't been flushed at all for a long time then it's not a great thing, where do you think all that junk goes after its lifted?

You're correct! A manual transmission does not have automatic transmission fluid. It has a different type of fluid called gear oil, which amazingly enough, is a transmission fluid.Fizzone wrote:
