4) start time is 12:12am local turf time and ends at 11:58pm.
From the first post there is no mention of time zones. Just local time. So at 12:12 am the festivities start.

I can't stress this enough. If you have never experienced gas day before TAKE DOWN YOUR LOOT! I am a loot whore & there are many more like me out there. Chances are if you have loot out starting at 12:12 it's not gonna be there at the end of the day.

Fuck gas it's just another reason and excuse to attack the bad people and let the one who are just fine to increase there influence. And if you don't believe me why is a player making the event and not the people who run the show. Another reason the player who made gas day is one of the best in the game. And he's making and excuse to take from players like the rest of the best people.
