Oh and I know people that have lost all their friends and family, not by death. But by abandonment. I assure you, they did wish they had died. It would have been easier. So next time use experience not assumptions. :)

The end of the world (or at least for me) is when i die so why should i care when its my time i will eventually die!

Actually nukes throw tons of radioactive debris into the atmosphere. This is called nuclear fallout. It is the most devastating effect of a nuclear explosion, because it can spread for hundreds of miles and kill for several years after. It also irradiates the land, making it uninhabitable. They do have bunkers designed to protect from nuclear fallout that are self sustainable for several years. These are called fallout bunkers.

Which are to be stocked long enough to make it (hopefully) past the nuclear winter, which is one way to prep. But what if the was no bombing? Either way, I don't want to be in a tunnel for 20 years, I'd take my chances on the surface as far away from ground zero as possible.

@tweak: try not to have such a clear definition of zombie made up in your mind. If you think about how you think, you may realize that your definition of a zombie sounds identical to hollywood's definition of a zombie. Life isn't a movie, it happens slightly differently. I didn't think the zombie thing was remotely possible until I saw a PowerPoint a fellow classmate made on the subject. You have to forget what you think you know so that you can effectively evaluate evidence for yourself(well for me anyways).

This forum wasn't about if you care if you live, die, or become a feline. It's about thoughts on how(if) the end will happen, and if there is a point to preparing for it. If there is a point of being prepared, to what extent would be considered "sane."
