My extremely picky-eater little boy just took a big bite out of a hamburger for the first time. No gagging, no complaining, he just ate it.
I haven't been this happy in a long time!

Haha when I was younger I wouldn't eat hamburgers ether. I eat them now but I hardly put anything on them. Burger, bun, ketchup. And that's it.

One time I was trying to get my son to try salmon. He just kept refusing, refusing, refusing. I gave him some teriyaki sauce, which I think tastes awesome. He didn't like it. BBQ sauce. Nope. Finally, I thought "this is so gross, but worth a shot" & I put some ketchup on his plate. He doused the fish in the ketchup & ate every bit of it. Kids & ketchup.. When my little brother was about 4 or 5, all he'd eat was Kraft singles with ketchup.

His diet is barely acceptable. Rice, oatmeal, processed chicken or turkey, corn, green beans, pop tarts, French fries.
He's picky about brands, preparation, and temperature.
He's got a life-threatening egg allergy, and us being very careful about his food has made him this way.

I'm happy for u man, how old is he?

That's what's up.

I don't have kids but I don't get the picky eater thing. I have a niece that will only eat pizza, chicken nuggets, and pasta and sauce.
If I didn't eat my dinner when I was a kid I got it for breakfast. I figure my kid will eat when he or she gets hungry enough but I'm sure that's easy to say not actually having one lol.
That's great that he started trying new things though. I'm sure the egg allergy doesn't help things any that's got to be a pita to track.

My son will literally throw up if you give him the wrong brand of hot dog. Not with bread, mind you, because today was the first time he ate bread, but just a plain chicken hot dog that he will normally eat. He will actually live on orange juice and vitamins for a week rather than eat what we put out for him. It's like weighing child abuse with encouraging diversity of food. It's a fine line.
The 3 year old will eat anything at all. It doesn't have to be food, either. He'll eat carpet lint.
Two extremes.

Nice, now upgrade that boy to a triple angry whopper!!

Don't worry most kids do grow out of being picky eaters. -
O-Dogg, yeah, we know about vaccines cultured in eggs. We have to carry epi-pens around, too. Sucks big time.
-
I used to be a really picky eater, I still am a little but I experiment a little now. Macaroni & Cheese, Mashed Potatoes, Pizza, French Fries, etc. were my main foods. If I had a burger the meat had to be thin.
Good to see he's trying new things.

My poor little niece is allergic to eggs, dairy, soy, and wheat. She's only 2, so the doctors say she will probably grow out of some of them, but I feel awful for her, especially since her older brothers can eat anything.
At least she's not picky, too.

That's awful. There are so many foods she can't eat. It basically means that all foods are from scratch made at home, right? My poor little niece is allergic to eggs, dairy, soy, and wheat. My son used to eat everything. I got a pic of him holding one of those extra long tentacley part of the calamari like a noodle bigger than his face.
and then he got pickier, so I always said he could eat dinner or not eat, but that I wasn't going to make him something different from what the rest of us were having.
then, in a horrible act of treason, he went vegetarian. did I mention I ran a bone in filet topped with miso foie butter and seared foie gras all weekend? as a chef I'm disgusted and outraged. as a parent I have to support him.
