Thank you for debating a while ago in that thread with global warming. Thanks to you two I have been doing more research and agree that it is a pretty big pile of shit. 👏

What thread is that?

Not to beat a dead horse, but try to find a video by the bbc called the great global warming swindle. It looks at this as a political movement that can't be stopped, rather than a scientific movement. Which it really isn't, given that people are drawing speculative conclusions. That, by definition, is not science.

When this ice age ends, we're in the stink!!

Having done environmental earth science at uni and since then trying to keep up with the science. I am at the least, deeply sceptical. Too many unknowns, far too many bad data sets and fudge factors/factors not accounted for in studies.
And an inconvenient truth.. What a load of politically based badly scienced crap that was... -
A recent study said that in many places an Earth temperature has actually RISEN in the past 10-20 yers. ( Also about 30 years ago everyone was saying there we going to be an ice age....)

It sits next to my copy of Heaven and Earth: Global Warming – The Missing Science.
I wouldn't put money on either warming or cooling. But the earths climate is in constant flux. Mans influence or lack thereof aside. -

The earth does warm up, caused by solar flares. When the sun has prolonged solar flare activity, the earth will warm up tracking the solar flare ups. For man to even think that our puny efforts can either warm up or cool down this planet is ludicrous. Popular Science has good articles on this and a graft that shows the correlation between earth temperatures and solar flare activity.

Global warming is BS
the earth warms and cools and several thousand year -

The Earth's climate has changed throughout history. Just in the last 650,000 years there have been seven cycles of glacial advance and retreat, with the abrupt end of the last ice age about 7,000 years ago marking the beginning of the modern climate era — and of human civilization. Most of these climate changes are attributed to very small variations in Earth’s orbit that change the amount of solar energy our planet receives.
The current warming trend is of particular significance because most of it is very likely human-induced and proceeding at a rate that is unprecedented in the past 1,300 years -
I've really no position on what is happening or why.
My position is that the Earth has been through so much more drastic change all on its' own than is happenning now.
Geologically, we've been lucky to live in such a wonderful time of such unusual temperate climate, and I could not care less if it all goes sideways a hundred years from now, and we all have to wear speedos and live in dense tropical jungles a little more inland.

When the "hole in the ozone layer" switches over to "the spot of ozone in the nothing layer", we'll all be bathing in SPF 500 every day.

Apart from global concentrations of ods having peaked late 90's, and are now declining. So the natural cycle of ozone production should start to repair the hole, so give it about 10 years and o3 levels should be noticeably up and another 30 or so pretty much back to pre industrial CfC use levels. Yay!When the "hole in the ozone layer" switches over to "the spot of ozone in the nothing layer", we'll all be bathing in SPF 500 every day.
