I drove up to Maryland one year and surprised my father on his birthday with a sack of bugs. It's really hard to find crawfish boil there, as a matter of fact I didn't find any. U can use garlic powder , cyan pepper and salt and that works pretty good. Add what ever else u like to add more flavor. I like to use the above with lemons, oranges, celery, mushrooms, smoked sausageand whole garlic cloves. You still gotta do taters and corn as well.Pmite wrote:

Here in Texas, gulf coast region, we have so much boil choice it's crazy. Mushrooms are the best addition to any boil.tommy dangerous wrote:

Then again I'm biased, if I could eat nothing but mushrooms and fish all day everyday, I'd be fine.

When I leave southern Louisiana to go on vacation and I'm bringing bugs to boil the first night on location. I'm bringing EVERYTHING I need. I'm a quick learner. I like to go to the outer banks of north Carolina and hang for a week with my folks and brothers when they can make it. Depending on the time we head there depends on weather I can bring the bugs. If I can't bring bugs I'll buy crabs there for an ass raping price and boil them with the required items I bring from home.
-
Man I can sure smell them crawfish boiling! 👍

First time we stayed in Avon. The second time we stayed in Buxton, and I don't rember the exact location the third and fourth time. I can say that I look forward to going there every year to hang with the folks for a week of doing notta! This year I'll have turf wars!!!!

Start a tradition, save one of the bugs and have him chill on the lid of your cup all day. Then set him free, usually you pick the biggest for this prestigious honor.

I've stayed in Avon too. But my favorite is the northern OBX. Duck and Corolla. At the Northern end of highway 12, the road empties right onto the beach and you can drive about 15 miles on the 4x4 beach. Just throw everything in the truck, drive until you find a nice spot with no people and set up shop. It's very peaceful and secluded. Plus you have the wild Spanish mustangs that just wander down in front of you. Just amazing.

I will have to look into that. The wild mustangs sound awesome!! My parents own horses so I will mention it to them as well. I found a place I wanted too buy on OBX but I couldn't come up with the six million they wanted for the place. Oh well, I'll just have to settle for visiting for vacation untill I hit the lotto. Yeah. I'm waiting on my mega millions ticket to hit too. Even if you stay somewhere else though. It's worth a drive up there. The mustangs are amazing. You can't miss it. Drive north on 12 until you hit the ocean and hang a left. Worth the trip.

I'm sure it is. My oldest son graduates next year and wants to join the Marines. I still have my two younger sons to get through school. I would like to move to NC. I really like it there. I got to call it a night ladies and gentlemen. Been fun as usual. Catch y'all on the flip side. Peace out!

Four more hours until an all nighter. No piece of techno-crapola is worth it and I'm too damned old. Vacation? That was so 2000. But I'm a sucker for fresh seafood.
-
Y'all r making me hungry for some crawdads. Yes mushroom and corn on the cob are great in the boil
-
Stop. Now. It's melons or nada.
