Open minded, narrow minded...
As for the question, the answer is yes. Nothing to do with how we feel, it's how they feel, and they feel they're necessary or they wouldn't do them.
*facepalmed* it's like listening to parrots. Teach one a new word, and suddenly they all start using it. -

Why the hell would you do that? Straight white men aren't being put down and oppressed for being how they are. Gay people are. That's the reason, is pride in who you are. Keeping above ignorant fools and staying in touch with yourself. I'm straight. I have a girlfriend. I can't fucking stand intolerance. You have to take the good with the bad, people. If you take PDA for gay people away you have to take PDA away for straight people too. What i don't get is why we can't all just get along ✌I want a parade for white straight men y don't we ever have a parade

The reason for a gay parade or gay pride day is to recognize a minority group (a subculture, not a race/ethnicity).
This group is not large enough to be officially recognized like African American month or Hispanic month
So I don't think anyone can say or claim that it's unfair we don't have a straight day. The parade/day is necessarily celebrating the homosexual aspect... It's about bringin to light what's been hidden for so long(aka in the closet). It's about recognizing a minority group and trying to mainstream them so thy are not ostracized.
Anyhow... People should just let people be... If you don't like them...who cares... No need to put anyone down cuz they are not like you

I think people wouldn't want their kids affected by that kind of lifestyle that's why they don't like it.
Of course, most parents would want grandkids. And you can achieve that by only a man and woman. No in vitri fertilization nor adoption.

Kudos to the Ninth Circuit Court for ruling that California's controversial Proposition 8 (same sex marriage ban) is unconstitutional, citing that it violated the 14th Amendment of the US Constitution, which states that "no state shall deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of its laws". Bottom line is: inequality is un-American. It's a no-brainer.

Yes I was very surprised. Our government hasn't been freedom oriented lately. I know in the UK the gay community pay for it all as well as the clean up and the extra policing (or at least that's what I've been told) so where is the harm. Its a bit of fun. It hurts no one. And if you don't like it, don't go. I've always found the gay community very friendly and very tolerant.
And single straight guys, consider this, the more gay guys, the more girls for you to chat up without competition lol.
Seriously though it's all done in fun, so why not? -
They're not doing much to break down stereotypes.... What about a hetro pride march, I wonder how that would go down....

Sorry but I have to say something, you want a straight pride day?? You get your straight pride day EVERYDAY, everyday that you are not attacked, beaten even raped for loving someone, everyday that you are not forced out of your homes, turned away from employers and humiliated for "a laugh" you get your straight pride day everyday, you have the freedom to hold someone's hand without being judge by the people around you, when you have to check the crime stats in an area and make sure no ones looking to quickly give your lover a hug out of fear off attacks THEN you can have your straight pride parade

My recollection of the start of the gay pride marches was they commenced as a protest against the gay bashings in Sydney which were subtly approved of by the police at the time by their inaction and general acceptance that gays were asking to be bashes by being gay.
These protests drew political and media attention to the issue which has resulted in a material change in the social acceptance of gays and lesbians in society.

I totally agree with you. I love homosexuals. They are the nicest people I have ever met. But I just don't like them showing signs of affection in front of me. I don't mind holding hands and hugging. Just the kissing...So am I evil because I have a problem with gays? The fact that I don't want my daughters to see 2 men in a parade kissing? Am I evil because it turns my stomach to see 2 men holding hands? Am I a bad person to believe that marriage is a man and a woman? Why am I vilified because I am straight???
Then again I'm the same with straight people. I hate it when a guy and girl kiss in public. -
I have been going to the Brighton gay pride event since it started (my mum took me as a kid) although I've stopped going recently as they have started charging entry, but as a kid I never saw anything that upset me or confused me at all, my mum just had a quick talk with me saying something along the lines of "sometimes men love men and women love women" that was it, hardly the big terrifying and confusing talk people claim to have to have

We have the gay ad lesbian mardigra over here in Australia and tonnes of straight people attend (I've been to one a fair few years ago) and they're good for awareness. However in saying that I do feel uncomfortable when I see ANY couple all over each other in a public place like a shopping centre infront of my young son... whether the couple is straight, gay, lesbian or whatever their sexual preferences are. In my opinion it's perfectly fine as long as its not shoved in your face, nobody is forcing anyone to attend these parades if you don't like it don't go.

My question is whatever happened to the belief in God and the laws he set. It seems to me that the world was heading twards a better place before we all decided to turn our backs on God... And trust me I know that this is a touchy subject but I feel it's one that needed to be said.. Now am I evil because I don't feel that God created man and woman to be with the same sex?

My 2 cents ... I'm supportive of gays and gay marraige... But I think "pride" parades for anything are kinda lame... Unless its to show pride for your country as a whole.
If you are proud of something it will show in how you represent youself and a parade isn't needed.
I will say on gay pride parades specifically that there tends to be a lot of inappropriate behavior that takes place in them. It turns a lot of participants into parodies of what homophobes classify homosexuals as.
I say be gay be proud
Be straight be proud
I don't think anyone needs a parade base on Whom they screw -
