An 8yr comunicatn contract wth the marines. Honestly im horifyd. He was fed by the recruter he mite be able to enter with an offiser title alredy in plase cos he has gotten 2 1/2 yrs of college. Thats just stupid to beleev! I have vets in the famly.
I cant beleev the whol famly kept this from me til now. To be honest, im looked at as fragile cos of my condishn. But there has to be SOMTHNG i can say. If i cod get hold of that recrutr. My husbnd is upset too, tho he has had the info for 2weeks. This is his son. (im 13 yrs yunger than my husbnd, that affects how he deels with me. A totl caregiver)
Any advise is thanked. -
Marines are tough, my father was a navy man and told me if I ever sign up do the air force, which is what I did. The air force gets better pay, better living conditions, shorter basic training, and unless you sign up for combat control our battle bases were miles from hot zones. Make sure he thought this through, he spoke to all recruiters not just the marine. The military is a great option and I have friends in all branches. Even my friends who are marines say its tough. Just make sure this isn't a whim and he thought this through. The marines do not let you out for anything. While I knew to guys who left the USAF 3 weeks in saying they were homesick. I served my 6 years, they paid for my college, I made a lot of life long friends. But you need to be prepared and think out everything.

You join the marines to be a marine. U don't do it for money, or for creature comforts. You do it so you can be apart of the greatest fighting force on the planet. No offense to any other service, ur jobs are important, but there is nothing like earring the title Marine. Tell him to go for it! I'm an active duty Marine and love every second of it. Also, in order to become an officer in the marines u must have a bachelors from an acredited college or university. You can enlist and eventually get ur degree and try to become an officer if he wants to do that

And because of college, if he dosent go for officer, he ought to be going into/comming out of basic as an E-2, instead of an E-1, and thats a hellova nice start.

Recruiters will feed you anything you wanna hear. Unless you see it in writing, it isn't legit. I know several recruiters and my husband is also in the military.

On a side note thank you sir for your service. -
I did 4 yrs in the Marines and it's not a joke or something u just jump into without thinking I'm disabled now and live with this shit everyday of my life suffering because of idiots who think its a good idea to occupy a country with no clear target he needs to check what mos he's gonna be going for and heck of it has a low cutting score a low cutting score makes it easy for him to pick up rank nobody wants to be a pfc there whole career lol also it's good tO find something that he can carry over into the civilian aside with intel is good as well as other jobs that have a traid with them like motor t Orr suPpply there are alot of good things and bad things that will come from his choice hopefully he gets a good unit and does t get in trouble but I hope he likes to run because he will be doing alot and hiking/humping with a heavy load lol

As a vet, here's my two cents. Tell him to get out of it. Nothing worse than selling you a dream of patriotism and replacing it with making you an Oil Wars pawn...putting $ in the pockets of corporations.

Recruiters worry about their quota more than the person. Never believe what they say unless it is in writing or part of a regulation. Been in almost ten years, not marines though, but I can remember my experience with my recruiter and others very well. They all start out as military members helping get people for their branch and turn into shady salesmen... Just what I believe.
