In all fairness, I don't act at all like a noob, because I'm really not one.
I'm not even really a newbie: but I'm not going to kick up a stink if a vet calls me one.To Grimm and Cj, I agree. I don't suppose Nick would sticky a 'forum ettiquite' thread in GD, would he? 🙍

Maybe if we petitioned enough we could make it happen. But I don't wanna get vets annoyed and think noobs are being presumptuous. As you said you're not a noob really, and I don't really think I am anymore either but others would probably disagree. Anyhow, for now, we can simply bump it I suppose. -
I'm fully in support of this message and an etiquette sticky. Most noobs come here before anywhere. A small one couldn't hurt.

I support this message!
If we all buy enough respect points, Nick may just take a request from us... Usually, developer support leads to financial support, but this game is a rare case of financial support leading to developer support.

I'm not sure what you will learn by reading the topics here first? This is general discussion, what exactly are the rules for this forum? I would think the ones that do read this are not the ones you are worried about. Even the specific forums with a sticky that outlines how the forum should be used get inundated with meaningless posts. The GD forum is just that, if the post doesn't interest you don't read it. But who decides what is worthy provided but is within the TOS?

It just takes a little thought-power.

I think it's kind of ironic how this message is also noobish spam. How many other similar threads have you seen?

I read the forums and agree with the concept of your message, however the idea of the general discussion thread is 'get to know your neighbourhood mobsters' there is no set topic provided the posts are within the TOS. There are specific forums for specific topics and even with sticky posts they are often ignored ..... For which posters pay the price. Take my recent post titled Surrounded (no need to post anything on it) but I would be curious what it is about that post that is wrong against other posts on this forum. And how I could tell by reading that post what I should or should not be saying in the GD forum?

Chill: vie seen several similar threads. Indeed, I believe I posted one of them several weeks ago: I just remembered. The reason they keep getting posted is simply this: they are needed!chill16 wrote:

Tweek: i kind of thought the same myself.

It's quite simple. I was bored and didn't like it. Things like that happen in here. Get used to it when you create threads.
-
Exactly my point. How can there be a request to follow unwritten rules when there is no way to actually follow them? You seem to be contradicting the message you earlier agreed with?

I read the forums and

These kinds of useless topics don't help you get to know your neighbourhood mobsters, as you accurately put it.
It's not hard to see what is accepted when you see people's responses, is basically my point. ✌ -
Damn, autocorrect really isn't working for me tonight. Both my previous comments had typo's. Ah well ... Message still made ✊
-
I think it would be smart on nicks part to put the help forums on the top of the forums page. A noob just downloads the game, see his/her invite code and is like, "dame, i have to post this bad boy to get some mob!" He/she then clicks forums and GD is at top staring them in the face... Click... Topic: "Noob rhymes with boob HAHAHA"... " I need a mob because my cat has a bigger mob than I do! Add hairball". We all facepalm and ER the person. Its a vicious circle.

True: there are no set rules. But when somebody is bored, and makes a sarcastic comment, it is generally jumped upon by other players, as good old Tweek's comment has been.Exactly my point. Again, it's a case of reading the thread (plural: multiple threads) in its [their] entirety, and getting to know who to listen to, and who not to.It takes time and thought, to learn what things are jumped on. Hence, reading for a couple of months before posting.

I see. Just as long as turfa understands that her post is meaningless then, is that your point? You 'support this message' But it is also ok to attack for a message but not have a reason why. That should make it much easier for people to understand.
