A question preferably for US and UK personel...
Forums › General Discussion › A question preferably for US and UK personel...-
I am from the UK. I really like a lot of American TV shows (I've been there a few times at my uncles, i LOVED the TV shows) I even want to move over when I'm older. I struggle to find anything that shows certain shows on my TV. I like to watch the sports etc. But I can only seem to find college basketball and occaisionally a hockey game.
I'm wondering if anyone knew any websites/things you can download for TV boxsets that can allow me to watch shows and games.

Well I'm not sure if you have directv in the uk but there's that. They have recording capabilities. Then there's Netflix. But the selection is limited. But if you go to network websites. Like A&E and others, alot of time they air episodes online.

There's the WatchESPN app, your uncle lives in the US right? You might be able to use his tv subcription info to sign into the app.

Check out icefilms.info they have most well known shows as well as movies at DVD quality. Hook up your computer to your tv via HDMI and your set.

Just get a VPN with a U.S. ip address then hulu it up.

I'm probably going to ditch the sky box and go with free view and netflix. I saw it on adverts while I was in Anerica and it seemed good.
-
While a lot of stuff is available on Hulu/itunes/Netflix if you use a VPN (had to do that a lot when I was traveling back and forth to Europe)
However you asked about sports. That content is much more controlled and the broadcast rights are negotiated between networks. Thus you'll need to get the NBC, CBS, and FOX feeds from satellite just like if we want to watch soccer we have to get it from satellite here.
If you're okay watching it on the computer (illegally) there are several places where people stream cable broadcasts over the web.

The reason you only get college sports with the occasional hockey game is because those are the only things going on in American sports right now aside from basketball. Baseball spring training is starting and the season starts in April.

For sports there's Espn and sports digest and NASCAR Go 88

The NBA season started in December and goes until the end of April. I personally wouldn't be complaining about a lack of NBA games. I find it kind of boring (which is ironic since I'm a big baseball fan and most people find that boring). I work at a bar that has about four different sports channels on at all times and all I get to watch for the next few weeks is basketball...with a couple golf and tennis highlights...
