So someone shouldn't have the right to spend money on things they enjoy? No, there's a line. Putting money into the game is fine but 1000+ dollars can change a persons life. That's irresponsible, selfish and should be something you're ashamed of. You can't change a persons life with 50 bucks but 1000 could send a kid to school for a year in a lot of countries. That's a life changing ammount if money.
You can't spend the same dollar twice, so no, you can't do both. The issue isn't charity, it's priorities.
I do roughly 6 hours a week in charity doing labor for those that can't do it themslves-lawn work, home repairs...
I also give a percentage of monthly income.
And I buy the 500 point pack every 2-3 weeks. Tha adds up after a while.

This way, Nick can help people. It's just like giving money to Sally Struthers, except more of it gets to people that need it. For every dollar I earn and then spend in this game is taxed at least 3 times. Think of all the needy people the federal government is helping because of these transactions... Will somebody please think of the children, and spend more money on frivolous shit???😭👉👶👼👦👼👧👼

It's not spending on yourself that I have in issue with. If someone spent a lot of money on a house or a good car, really anything of any substantive value, that's really a lot different then buying essentially points in a game. I don't care how much someone likes this game, the idea that these things are equivalent is ridiculous.
How much do you spend on entertainment?
What's the difference between spending on a luxury car or hacing 1000 channels of sattelite television?
or $18 a pop for an imax movie?
I don't go to theaters. I have no cable television. I don't go to bars.
I have a $6000 mountan bike though. And I'll likely spend well over $1k on this game by the time I am done with it.
But if you compare my spending on "entertainment" to the money others spend on entertainment, you will like find they're not so different.
It should bot matter what form that entertainment comes in.

And what of all the money spent on Coca Cola and Ben & Jerry's by a person in a year?
How many lives could that change?
Going to McDonalds...how many educations would that fund?
-
And $1800 on one game or $1800 spent on 100 games at $18 each.
Is there a difference?
-
Yes there's a big difference between unconsciously wasting money and blowing a large amount indifferently. That difference is that in one case it's totally excusable to not question it and to let it go and in the other if you don't address it then you're really just not taking any responsibility in the world around you.
It's easy to sit there and be defensive because you want to play with your toys abd if you choose to spend your money like that then fine, but who are any of you to tell anyone else they shouldn't speak up about it? All your justifications so far have been that lots of you care more about a game then people in need. Is that really the argument you want to win?
I'm not saying you shouldn't have fun with your money. I'm saying that there is a line.

It's not a matter of what you do or don't do for the public. It's a matter of there being boundaries. You don't have to agree where that boundary is but as far as I can tell you're arguing that there is no boundary here.
Giving to charity was just an example of how it was a waste. The fact that it's a life changing amount of money was just to give it perspective. But it's not about those things specifically. My problem mainly is that people are treating her purchase like it's reasonable while it's really pretty amazingly wasteful.
-
I won't say it's not wastefull Nixon. But it's just not right to judge someone for how they spend money for their own enjoyment. I myself have allocation of funds that doesn't exceed what I used to spend on video games before. Now that this is the only game I play my own ammount seems very reasonable but will be up in the one k area not too far in the future. My point is everyone has the right to get their kicks in thei own way and who are you to judge them for that

So it was unwise but you did it so it's okay because that's how you are... unwise? I don't care that much that you spent the money. I care much more about the fact that all of our actions set examples and your example is wasteful. I speak out because I think it's worth it to set a counterexample. It's unfortunate that even though you see it was unwise you won't just own up to that and teach others from a simple mistake. That an even greater disservice.

Shall we test that obviously ill-thought statement? We can got the extreme and wonder, would you judge someone for using their money to by a baby so they could burn it with cigarettes? Obviously there are boundaries.

Obviously Nixon the limit is something that would cause direct harm to others. I just felt that that goes without saying. But I've always felt that as long as something does no harm to others and gives you enjoyment then what's wrong with it?

Momo is not a good player just like brown note...
Thats why they need to spend thousands on this game...

There's nothing wrong with it, Belial, but it's just something I don't think should be celebrated. It's just so obscenely indulgent for something so petty. That's why I reacted strongly to it.

I think it's fine for people to set soft limits through confronting behavior they don't condone. I'm not advocating corporal punishment, just speaking up when something I see as wrong, not in the sense of moral as above, but in a more general way. I see buying 3000 henchmen as wasteful, maybe bordering on obscene, and I got tired of people acting like it wasn't. Since no one has denied it was wasteful it seems to me the only disagreement is over whether or not one should confront it or leave it alone. I left it alone for a while but as more and more people are starting to accept it I wanted to speak up and say I don't.

Again, wasteful is a matter of perspective.
And I understand your point about boundaries, but who determines the boundaries?
Should you buy a 50k house because that will serve the purpose and give 100k to change lives, or is it ok to but the opulent mansion for millions?
What if some spends 1800 on this game but gives 118k to help change lives? Is it ok then?
And how is it any different for the player that spends 1800 on this game than you, me and 16 others who only spent $100? If the 18 of us pooled that Manet, we could change a life.
But why is it only about money? Ad stated, I get out and actually work in the community. How much time have you spent on your mob efforts? Not just punching codes, but harvesting codes?
Just one hour a week can be life changing to a child of a broken home. And no money even need be involved in that.
So tell me, have you changed any lives?

Grim forget him. He's a liar. The fact that he won't forgive u (though you're not wrong) further shows how he is. Darth apologized to us (though not necessary) and we immediately told him we were glad he saw the light and all was forgiven. Thug is a pathological liar. You're a good kid and are better than him. If u end up back in the coalition again so be it but I had to share that
-
@ChainsawCharlie
We determine the boundaries by speaking up. If one or two people say one thing it doesn't mean much but if lots of people say the same thing it means a lot. But the first step is speaking up when you feel the urge.I used the fact that it was a life changing amount of money as a way to put it in perspective, not to say that she needs to be out there changing lives. She does, everyone does, but that's a totally different discussion.

I never asked you to explain how you spend your money to me or to justify it. You're the one defending something you said yourself was unwise. I only gave my opinion on it, not just toward you, but anyone doing that.
-
An I am sad everyone has been thinking life changing = money ... As a voluntary the real challenge is human resources ... So the argument if sound ... Should also concern : Why u spend time on a game but not going out to help those in need ????
