I think I understand both sides of the religious argument.
From my perspective there is no god. Yep an athiest.
Accordingly, I can't blame god or Satan or mohammed for the actions of their followers.
I will however state that in my opinion people who use any form of religious text to persecute another are the most evil people in the world. I don't care whether that is done in the name of Jesus, Mohammed, Buddha, or the great spaghetti monster as a group these are the most evil on the planet.
Please note that they are the minority. I have Catholic god parents, Jewish cousins, was brought up CofE and had Muslim friends at high school. We were all tolerant of each others beliefs.

Actually god can't force anyone to do anything. It's a little something called free agency. People have the freedom to choose whatever they want. If it only effects themself and no one else. No one can be forced by god or those who believe in a god to obey his commandments. That's the persons choice. God may condem gay marriage I suppose. Although with free agency gay marriage is actually okay. Any law that targets a minority and denies them rights of a majority is unconstitutional. Marriage has rights that gays can not receive because people dont want same sex marriage. Gays deserve the same rights of marriage as heterosexual couples do. Heck I don't mind if it remains with the name marriage. They have a right and freedom to marry. I'm religouse too, but I don't see the sense in denying gays rights. It took forever for religon to see the injustice of segregation too. God is not evil point being.
