Just curious to how many high school wrestlers ( graduated or not) are out the turfing.

I used to wrestle, both middle school an highschool!
Went to state twice won once!
And I'm turfing like a mofo! -
Nice what weight were you? And what state?

Wrestled 119 and 126 in high school. Then puberty hit and I grew 6 inches over the summer. Even got to wrestle a girl in a match. That was frightening!

Wrestled 8 years. In high school I wrestled 130, 145,152,160. Won a few tournaments. Medaled in all but 2-3/year. Went to college hadn't wrestled since high school.

I've wrestled for 5 years and went to state placed 3rd and 4th verry good sport. Ps I was varsity all my life

Wrestled in 6-8th grade. I'm a freshman now, but i did in minnesota

145, 152 &160 weight class...100 years ago.

I wrestled in middle school I'm a freshman now I just don't have the time to this year plus the head coach sucks

Didn't wrestle but did martial arts. Just was not into my school enough to get involved. Looking back now I should have I probably would have been good.

We just got done with our season and i wrestled 138, only been wrestling a year and a half

What's the most amount of weight you guys had to cut in the shortest time?
While my season was over bc of our higher ranked guys moving around weight classes I stopped my dieting. Was wrestling 152 was asked to be 145 by the weekend. Lost about 10 lbs. In the week, the last half pound on the bus ride to the tournament. -
I was cutting the whole season went from 152 to 132 or 128 after practice so i didnt have a problem with cutting weight before a match

We had hydration testing before our first match of the season and they would take your body fat % and come up with what you could lose in what amount of time. You couldn't go below a set % of body fat. I don't think I had the weight to lose that much when I was in high school. Always ran cross country to keep weight down so cutting at the beginning would be easier.

I really miss it. The whole team was like a family and the adrenaline during a tough match is hard to get again. Went to state my senior year no place finish though.

Yeah we had the same thing which is why i couldnt go to 132 weight class

How was your conditioning at your school? Looking back do you think youd be able to do what you did back then?

Hell no I wouldn't. I ran cross country and wrestling conditioning was way harder. Go to morning practice at 6am then school then afterschool practice. After every practice sprints and stairs forever it seemed. We had shirts that said "6am-6pm, champions never see the light of day". I know for a fact there was no other athletes that could keep up with the wrestlers conditioning at our schools.
