I know it's sometimes awkward to talk to a special needs person n it feels like you're just talking to some random person who decided to talk to you. STOP SHAKING AND NODDING YOUR HEAD!!!

Just met a 26 year old woman named Belma. She works at some work shop that creates jobs for ppl. I was falling asleep and she decided to say "HI" to me. Unsure of how to react I just nodded and said hi. She started talkin to me and at first I wasn't sure what to say. After noticing the other ppl around us lookin like "WTF" then turning away. I woke myself up, put on a straight face, stared at anyone who looked over in the eyes, and took over the conversation. DON'T FEEL THREATENED BY THESE PPL. They're just like you and me. She's working saving half of every pay check and wants to become a math major so she can become a math teacher and then she wants to major in I irgot what it's called but it's like child developement where you watch little kids n all that.

Again. Don't feel threatened by them wanting to talk. Feel threatened by the dudes mad doggin you for not talkin to them.

#1 reason I say "AMERICA" in the title is cuz idk how other countries react. I know some are worst and others are better. But if you're that person that looks away or acts like you don't understand (which is understandable cuz she was hard to understand at sometimes) or you do the worst and pretend you're deaf and forgot your hearing aids. Then this post is for you.

Great post but I believe it isn't that people feel threatened. It is more likely that they feel empathy and uncomfortable with the situation. On one hand we, as a people, feel sorry for the person's situation, but then know that we aren't "allowed" to feel that way. So it's a situation where most people do not know how to act or what to say so as not to offend them. Again, great for you for making a new connection and helping to support her.

Dont sh^t on America, those people your talking about get treated way better here then in most places on this planet. Heck they get treated better here than most normal women in other countries do. Get off the high horse and stop being so damn preachy

and by those being threatened or just plain dumbasses I'm talkin about those that look nod their heads turn to their friends with a big struggle of trying not to laugh. Also those that look at these kind of ppl like if someone just took a shit on a plate and placed it infront of them and say "eat up it's gettin cold"
