Appropriate driving age limit🚗
Forums › General Discussion › Appropriate driving age limit🚗-
I live in the state of California in a small city next to Oakland, nothing like Oakland at all more more or less suburbish, well I notice when I drive past high schools that it gets quite dangerous. I've see accidents here and there around the same area and that's around the schools. Do you think that the driving age limit should stay at the age of 16 or be raised to a more mature age?
I personally believe that the age should be up'd. Don't get me wrong, I got my license at the age of 16 as well and honestly I was a dumbass. My first year of driving I had a hit and run, 1 reported accident, 1 unreported because the guy didn't have insurance. But yea I think most were like me. I matured more now and I am a safe driver. Anyways what you guys/gals think?

The whole problem with this is that every kid is different. I've seen kids driving a hardship younger than 16 who were way better than I was when I got my license... If there was a way to test for this, I'm sure it is what we would do.
I know parents that aren't letting their kids drive even though they are old enough -- to me this seems an excellent approach. Problem here is that all parents are not created equal.
Nothing for it I suppose...

True there are those who are responsible at a young age of driving but I still say most are reckless. We all know how it is to be 16 with a car on highschool. We all wanted to show off at some point, am I wrong? Anyways I always thought the driving age limit was going to be increased in California but I guess I was wrong. I think a good age would be 18.

I don't think raising the age would help, start teaching kids and easing them into it at 14/15 should help, then they get the licence at 16/17/18/etc.

That would be a nice alternative N130, but would it be effective, that's the real question

I think there should be extra "training" and classes about consequences drilled into 20 and under who want to "apply" to get their DL.
I was driving at 18 but I didn't get my license til 20. I handled my car very well, but .... I was racing doing stupid stuff on the streets, making u turns in the middle of traffic. Roadrage was my middle name. The point is I learned to calm down till I was like 23. No accidents or nothing like that but still. Nothing to be proud of just sharing my story and opinion. -

I think it would, I believe there was a study on it. I read some thing on AOL News like last month that said training at like 14/15 would ease kids into it. Beats just going cold turkey at 16-18.That would be a nice alternative N130, but would it be effective, that's the real question

They should have more of a "test" I say.. I just took my cdl n motorcycle test.. The cdl was easy I passd 3 test 1 shot! The motor cycle was a pain I missd it by 1.. They were askin dumb shit that didn't do with driving a car or motorcycle But that's my point test there awareness! My learners permit when I was 16 was so stupid if udidnt pass u were a Ra-tard! It showd signs n lights b asks what they were.

Yea I also realized that the behind the wheel test are too easy. My cousin just passed his behind the wheel test and honestly.. He is a horrible driver. I get scared when I'm in the car with him. Lol

I don't have my license yet, but when I get it, if I drive like in Burnout, many, many, many people will die.
