My nerdy coworker convinced me by showing me the diffusion coefficient of cream and I bought it. Since I don't use sugar, he didn't bother to show me the melting time calculation for the sugar. But the conclusion is, it does create more consistent mixture in a shorter amount of time if the cream and sugar are in the cup before the coffee....with.

At home I have black expresso w/out sugar, but I recently discovered an expresso latte affogato (poured over) w/out cream for when I am out.
