The problem I find with alliences or gangs is that it will reduce fighting. If you mark all the members say by making a turf with a gang name they will be less likely to be attacked. While I may not be part of a gang there are certain mobsters I'd help without second thought. It's part of the game, I've grown in size with fellow mobsters and we've helped eachother out.
Kinda makes it a surprise as you don't know who's backing who...
Gangs are a good idea... Just I fear it will make it boring in the UK as were small in player size compared to usa.

yes I agree totally and we would certainly not attack people for hitting our members a couple of times. And if a member gets into a war with someone that they provoked then we would certainly limit help if we give any at all.

if they won't continue for two days then it is no loss to the game.
If they don't know how to use vendettas they go to the help
forums.
It is very unlikely they would get crushed as an experienced player will realise they aren't strong enough before they can attack.

you then get dragged into "he said, she said" crap. I like the idea of helping new players out, but I don't think it would work well as a clan for protection.
